SYCC 2nd Sunday Tourney at 10AM April 12 - Youth Only and Free Entry

Dear Friends,
 
We will have the 2nd Sunday Sarasota Youth online chess club tournament on April 12. Our 1st Sunday Sarasota Youth online chess attracted 32 players, including 13 kids from South Africa! It will start at 10am and have 5 rounds. The time control is 15 min with 10 sec increments on each move. So it will last around 2.5 hours. This event is free and ONLY open to youth  whose rating is under 1750. Please join the club to play. https://www.chess.com/club/sarasota-youth-chess-club
 

National Chess Day - Special Events!

FREE CHESS EVENTS on Saturday October 12 for National Chess Day. This day was designated by President Ford in 1976,  "To give special recognition to a game that generates challenge, intellectual stimulation, and enjoyment for citizens of all ages."  

Celebrate National Chess Day with the Sarasota Youth Chess Club!  Chess Club Officer Mark Hamel will be available to assist aspiring players of all ages.  

Chess Tournament at Charlotte County in August-October, 2019

August 18, September 15, October 20, 2019 12:30pm-5:30pm
$10 entry fee is for advanced, intermediate and beginners who want to play in the non rated sections. $25 entry fee is for USCF rated section. The top 2 finishers in each section will receive Pizza Hut gift cards.
